DARK BOOM, formerly known as Abyss Front, is a side-scrolling auto shooting game published by KOMOE GAMES in Taiwan Server at 15 October 2020. The game revolves around battle of warships where the main goal is to invade and occupy all of the enemy faction's territory. As for now, the game only has Chinese language as the UI and Japanese language as their VA.
Registering an Account
To play this game, you can use a Guest Account, Facebook, Google Account or Apple Account. Since this game is region locked in some regions and if you somehow can't login, you can always use a VPN to login and you can disconnect it afterwards. Just make sure if you're disconnected or need to restart the game/device you need to redo this process every time you login.
Choosing a Commander and Your Nickname
After the first gameplay, you will need to choose your commander and your nickname. Be careful tho, or else you will end up with some random chinese character nickname!

DARK BOOM Gameplay
Sortie (PVE)
First thing first, I think we need to know about the gameplay of this game and YES, we do have anime-like cutscene when the ships do their ultimate. Basically, the battle consist of 2 waves (normally) and each one of them is given 01:30 minute to finish with boss in last wave. You can clear it in faster the better your team is.
Manoeuvre (PVP)
Challenge other commander's formation to win some medals and then exchange it for goodies.
Formation and Array
Your job as their commander is to decide who will participate in battle and put them on the formation then arrange their possition in array to make sure the right ship will be in the right position. Since this is an auto-side-scrolling game, sometimes you need to press the ultimate button manualy if you want a faster clear since the Ai takes some time to do the ultimate.
Dockyard
When you first get a doll, they started as 1 star level 1. And if you hit the level cap, you will not get any exp. Hence why you need to limit break your dolls.

| Limit breaking your dolls costs a lot of BP and blue liquid, especially SSR. That's why, if you still at the early stage of game, it is better to raise mixed team of SSR, SR or R, and not fully SSR. |

Some sort of Awakening which makes your doll's stat a lot stronger and changes their appearance and personality. Every doll has this despite their rarity.
Ships Classes
From left to right:
Aircraft Carriers / CV - Single Target attacker. Slow, does Airstrike damage, with high damage multiplier skills.
Battleships / BB - AOE attacker. Standard speed, does Cannon damage. Comes with Self Buff passives.
Destroyers / DD - Single target attacker. Standard speed, does Cannon damage, has Torpedo damage skills.
Heavy Cruisers / CA - Single target, tank. Standard speed, does Cannon damage. Have semi or full defensive skills ranging from buffing defense, self heals to shields.
Light Cruisers / CL - Single target attacker. Standard speed, does Cannon Damage.
Faction
DARK BOOM consist of 4 big factions: Rose Empire, BLACK SWORD, Kamishiro, Silver Wing Foundation.
When you first started the game, the only thing you have is your base and then as you progress through the game, you will invade more and more of their territories, making them yours just like the example image here. The more you invade, the more resources you gain.
Cruise and Garrison
Enemy faction will periodically invade your ports, and if you're not defend it properly, they will gain control of your port and reducing your production rate. To prevent this, we need this set-up garrison / patrol team in certain ports. Patrol teams will automatically fight enemy invaders and if their combat power is high enough, they would fend off the assault completely, earning you Defense Rewards.

You don't have to worry if you're invaded, you can always retake your port anytime and you still gonna get rewards.
Dorm
Dorm system in this game consist of maximum 5 rooms to rests your dolls and then 1 extra room to craft equipments. At first, the game gives you 1 free room, then you had to expand it by using crystals to unlock 4 more room. 5 dolls can fit in 1 room, and with 5 rooms you can fit 25 dolls in your dorm.
When you put your dolls in the room, it gives them 18k EXP in 4 hours. By adding furniture to the room, you will increases the room level and also their EXP gain.

Tierlist
Just like every other gacha games, DARK BOOM should have something like tier list right? WRONG! First of all, we have 4 type of rarity: SSR, SR, R and N. The thing is, every dolls have their own way to shine despite their rarity. Being a SSR doesn't automatically means that a doll is good, sometime even the R rarity doll is better than SSR. So just play with whoever you like the best and make sure to try different strategy for different enemies.
Gacha and Rerolling
I don't really recommend rerolling in this game. Because you will need a long time to do it. Here is why, for new players, we have the Payment in Advance or PiA system which can be accessed when the player reaches level 12. Basically, PiA let's you to do 300 gacha pulls in 3 days, 10x10 pull a day each.
In those 10 gacha pulls, you are required to choose one of the best pulls in your opinion, then you have to exchange that pull for 10 contracts / gacha currency so you can do the PiA gacha on the second day. So in total you need 30 contracts.
You,of course have the chance to get SSR in those 300 pulls, just make sure to aim the pull that has at least 2 SSRs and you will be fine. But if you don't get any SSR then just choose the one with most SRs because ships with SR and R rarity doesn't stops you progressing in this game.
